Sun, Sand, and Stories: Beach Trip Sparks Creative English Learning
Today we went to the beach!
We walked to the bus stop, bought our bus ticket, took the bus, driven by a strange individual, (Mrs Facer in disguise!) all the way to the seaside. When we were there, we splashed in the sea, made sandcastles and even had a delicious, creamy, refreshing, cold ice cream!
All of this was part of our English learning. We want the children to experience as much as possible first hand for them to draw upon in their own stories, anecdotes and writing. Our focus was introducing them to new vocabulary. They loved having an ice cream and coming up with different describing words for them.
