Music
“Music is the universal language of mankind.”– Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
At The Meadow, our music curriculum intends to inspire creativity and self-expression. We do this through listening, singing, playing, analysing, evaluating and composing across a range of musical styles and genres. Our aim is to develop curiosity for the subject and in turn, instil a love and passion of music to all ages. By being exposed to and taught about a wide range of musical styles, children are able to grow in confidence and progress in their understanding. In-class teaching of the subject is supported by weekly singing assemblies, peripatetic music teaching, performance opportunities in the local community and an annual production by each age phase.
