Whole School Themes

At our school, we believe that working collaboratively with parents is essential for fostering your child’s academic, social, and emotional growth. By building strong partnerships, we ensure that your child receives consistent support both at home and in the classroom. Together, we can create a nurturing environment that encourages curiosity, resilience, and a love for learning, helping your child to thrive in every aspect of their development. Your involvement and insights are invaluable to us as we work hand in hand to guide your child’s journey to success.

Throughout the year, we will host a variety of workshops, drop-in sessions, and cafés where you are welcome to come and join us. These events offer a unique opportunity to see firsthand what your children are learning and how they are doing it. You’ll also gain valuable insights on how to support their learning at home, ensuring that you are fully equipped to contribute to their educational journey. We look forward to welcoming you into the school and working together to help your child succeed.

No Outsiders: ‘We Belong Here’
A guide for parents and carers

We’re proud to be introducing the No Outsiders initiative at our school from this academic year.

What does it mean to be an outsider? It’s feeling left out, unwelcome, or like you don’t belong. At our school, we believe there are no outsiders – because everyone is welcome.

Created by educator Andrew Moffat, No Outsiders is a programme that teaches children about equality, diversity, and inclusion in a way that is age-appropriate and engaging. Through carefully chosen storybooks and class discussions, children learn that difference is something to be respected and celebrated – whether that’s race, gender, ability, religion, or family structure.

Even a four-year-old knows what it feels like to be left out – and no child should feel that way. That’s why we’re creating a school environment where every child feels seen, valued, and included. We want every child to grow up knowing: you belong here.

Phonics Cafés: Supporting Early Reading at Home
Reception and Year 1 Parent Sessions

This term, we were delighted to host our Phonics Cafés for Reception and Year 1 parents. These sessions were a fantastic opportunity to share how we teach phonics in school, demonstrate the methods we use, and provide practical tips for supporting early reading at home.

Thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to attend — it was lovely to welcome you into school and work together to support your children’s learning.

If you were unable to join us, or would like to revisit any of the information, you can download the resources shared during the sessions below.

If you have any further questions or would like to discuss phonics and early reading in more detail, please don’t hesitate to contact the school office — we’d be happy to chat.
